How to Find Us

🅿️ Please note that we are an idyllic forest café located in the heart of nature. Our parking area is situated directly on the B27. From there, a well-maintained and level forest path leads straight to our café – a pleasant walk of approximately 1 km (0.6 miles), taking around 15 minutes at a relaxed pace. ⭕️ Thank you for your understanding that vehicle access to the café is not permitted. The path belongs to the Forestry Office and not to Waldcafé Forellenteich, which means we are unfortunately unable to grant any exceptions or special permits for access. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you after a short walk! ☕️🌲😊

Dogs

🐾 Dogs are always warmly welcome at our café! To ensure that all guests – with or without four-legged companions – can enjoy their visit, we kindly ask responsible dog owners to observe the following guidelines: Please keep your dog on a leash at all times inside the café and throughout the property. Out of consideration for our staff and other guests, your dog should remain calmly lying under your table during your visit. For hygiene reasons, dogs are not permitted on cushions, benches, or chairs, even when placed in a jacket, blanket, or dog basket. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. By following these simple rules, we can ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. 🐕☕🌲

For group reservations, we kindly ask that you book well in advance and exclusively via our contact form. A reservation becomes binding only upon receipt of our written confirmation. Please note that reservations can only be made for indoor seating.

As a small forest café, our capacity is limited. Therefore, we kindly ask for your understanding that groups arriving without a prior reservation may experience longer waiting times or, unfortunately, may not be able to be accommodated. This applies to both our indoor seating area and terrace. Making a reservation in advance helps us prepare for your visit and ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

Reservations for up to 6 people are accepted by phone only from Wednesday to Sunday and are available in limited numbers. Reservations apply to indoor seating only. A truly cozy and family-friendly atmosphere! The food is incredibly fresh and prepared with great care and attention to detail. What makes it even more special is that many of the products are homemade and can even be taken home with you – from dumplings and venison sausages to cheesecake and the absolutely fantastic Baumkuchen. Today was our third visit, and we would come back anytime. A wonderful atmosphere, fresh ingredients – and you can truly taste the difference. The food is exceptionally delicious: whether it's trout, soup, vegan dishes, or gluten-free options, there is something for everyone. And the apple strudel? Simply the best I have ever tasted. We’ll definitely be back!

Yesterday, we went for a walk from our campsite and could hardly believe what we discovered in the middle of nature. Such a beautiful and cozy place! The waitress was incredibly friendly. Although there was self-service in the outdoor area, she still brought our food to the table because she had a moment to spare. Small gestures like that are no longer something you can take for granted these days. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was simply wonderful.

We visited Waldcafé Forellenteich this afternoon. After the short walk (1 km), we were warmly welcomed. The first round was sweet. The Brocken cake was amazing. Afterwards, the three of us shared the snack platter with Harz cheese, ham, lard, and more. We also managed to get the extra stamp.

For a long time now, it has been one of our favourite forest inns! It is always nice to stop there for a break. Very warm and welcoming – super delicious food and drinks – simply a place to feel good!
